Detroit West Side
Detroit’s West Side stretches from the western boundaries of the city to Woodward and Highland Park on the east and to the crux of I-96 and I-94 toward Central Detroit. The West Side is known for its historic neighborhoods such as Palmer Woods, University District, Warrendale, and the Grandmont Rosedale neighborhoods. Additionally, the West Side features Palmer Park and Rouge Park, the University of Detroit Mercy and Marygrove College, and the Redford Theatre. While the West Side is predominantly residential, there are a number of strong commercial corridors.
Detroit Parent Network serves the 48203, 48204, 48208, 48216, 48219, 48221, 48223, 48227, 48228, 48235, 48238, and 48239 zip codes on Detroit’s West Side. Through partnerships with the Judge Mathis Community Center, the Cody Rouge Alliance, and the Brightmoor Community Center, Detroit Parent Network delivers Project Graduation, Pathways to Literacy, Pathways to Excellence, Parent Teacher Home Visits, special workshops, events, and other activities to the parents of the West Side.
