Science, Health, & Literacy Expo 

Join us (In-Person OR Virtual) for a fun afternoon building scientific thinking and literacy skills in young learners!

The expo will feature activities and projects that allow children to explore and enjoy science and reading.

Virtual Session (June 9, 2-5pm):

  • Science Games

  • Literacy Activities

  • Read Alouds

  • Child-led presentations

  • Learning Resources for Parents and Families

  • Dress Up!

In-Person Session (June 10, 3-6pm):

  • Creation Stations (Take Home Projects)

  • Storytellers

  • Drum Demonstrations/Lessons

  • Giveaways and Food

  • Mobile Health Clinic (for whole family!)

We are also promoting Family Health through our partnership with Wayne Health. The Wayne Health Mobile Clinic will be on-site for the in-person event, offering free (no-insurance needed) wellness exams, COVID testing and vaccines, and health resources for the whole family!

Eat Healthy, Be Active

Detroit Parent Network and MSU Extension are launching our next round of Family Nutrition classes: Eat Healthy, Be Active 🍓🚴

This program aims to help adults improve their nutrition and make small changes for a lifelong impact.

Over the course of 6 lessons, we will discuss:
🍩 Reducing sugar, sodium, and fat
🥤 Healthy drink options
😄 Healthy options as a lifestyle
⛹️ Increasing physical activity
💵 Healthy meals on a budget

This class is offered via Zoom on Wednesdays, from 6-7pm. To Register, please complete the Enrollment form and and the Food and Physical Activity Questionnaire.


TechLite: Force

Computer Literacy in the Internet Age

TechLite: Force is a weekly technology workshop for youth ages 7-18. Led by DPN Youth Ambassadors B'Nate and Schneider, each class will help students develop computer literacy skills, learn best practices, and have time to socialize and have fun with other kids in a safe and educational environment!

Topics include maximizing productivity on school platforms (Clever, Teams, Microsoft Office, etc.); internet safety; online gaming; content creation and monetization; and basics of coding. 

TechLite: Force meets on Tuesdays from 6-7pm on Zoom. The program is free and open to the public.

Mommy to Mommy

Detroit Mommies, join us for a little connection and conversation!

Mommy to Mommy is DPN's support group for all mothers who need a little Me Time. Join us on Zoom every other Thursday from 10pm to 11pm.
